Toyota Material Handling is investing nearly $100 million to build a new facility that will assemble battery-powered forklifts.

LEXINGTON, KY—Clark Material Handling Co., a manufacturer of forklift trucks, is expanding its assembly plant here by more than 200 percent.

COLUMBUS, IN—Daiei Inc., a Japan-based manufacturer of industrial machinery components, plans to invest $3.35 million to lease, renovate and equip its first North American manufacturing operation here. Daiei will produce forklift pillars and other components for Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, which is also based in Columbus.

HOUSTON—Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. has begun a multimillion dollar project to expand its assembly plant here by more than 40 percent.
