Assembly Plants of the Year: Looking Back, Moving Forward
eBook
The Assembly Plant of the Year award was initiated in 2004 to showcase world-class production facilities in America, and the people, products and processes that make them successful. The goal of the award is to identify a state-of-the-art facility that has applied world-class processes to reduce production costs, increase productivity, shorten time to market or improve product quality. In this ebook, we look back at past winners, discover how the plants have further improved and learn their plans for the future. We’ll also look at what these incredible facilities have in common and how other plants can learn from their example.
Articles provide updates on the following facilities: Kenworth Truck Co., Renton, WA (2004); Schneider Electric, Lexington, KY (2007); IBM Corp., Poughkeepsie, NY (2008); AGCO Corp., Jackson, MN (2017); and Ford Motor Co., Wayne/Sterling Heights, MI (2012 and 2018).
